Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is a crucial component in the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, utilized by diesel engine manufacturers to comply with EPA 2010 emissions regulations. BlueDEF is a non-toxic, odorless, and colorless solution consisting of 67.5% purified water and 32.5% ultra-pure automotive-grade urea. When injected into the exhaust stream and passed over a catalyst, BlueDEF facilitates the conversion of NOx into nitrogen gas and water vapor, two harmless components of the atmosphere. BlueDEF adheres to ISO Standards 22241 for purity and composition and is certified by the American Petroleum Institute (API) as a diesel exhaust fluid, ensuring the highest quality and safety standards for optimal SCR performance. The dedicated DEF tank, located beside the fuel tank on the driver’s side, should be monitored via the DEF gauge, part of the diesel fuel gauge, to prevent depletion.
