Great serving bowl – or use it as a fruit bowl on your kitchen table! 9″ diameter x 3.5″ high The Art of Polish Pottery, as we know it today, started as local folk art centuries ago in the German province of Silesia. Discover the rich history and craftsmanship behind each unique piece, expertly handcrafted and hand-painted by skilled Polish artists. The first known pieces of “Bunzlauer” stoneware dating back to the 16th century were crafted by hand and decorated with a folk art stamping technique using potatoes. Original designs were inspired by the peacock feather, utilizing traditional colors such as cobalt blue, sage green, and ferrous red. These timeless designs and colors continue to inspire modern-day patterns made with high-quality, non-toxic materials. Skilled Polish artists individually handcraft and decorate each piece using small sponges to stamp each pattern and color. After mixing ingredients, molding the pottery, applying decorations and glaze, the pottery undergoes a twice-fired process. This labor-intensive process results in extremely durable pottery that resists cracking or chipping, making it suitable for use in the dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer. Our Polish Pottery is not only functional but also a beautiful addition to your kitchen or dining table. Complement your collection with our range of exquisite, hand-blown glassware, also sourced from Poland.
