Handmade Polish Pottery Utensil Jar – or use it as a beautiful flower vase or wine holder, 6 inches high with a 5-inch diameter opening. The Art of Polish Pottery, as we know it today, originated as a local folk art in 16th-century Silesia, a German province. The first “Bunzlauer” stoneware pieces were handcrafted using potatoes to stamp folk art designs, often featuring peacock feather-inspired patterns in cobalt blue, sage green, and ferrous red, colors still inspiring modern designs. Skilled Polish artists individually handcraft and decorate each piece using small sponges. After mixing ingredients, molding, decorating, and glazing, the pottery undergoes a twice-fired process, making it extremely durable, resistant to cracking and chipping, and perfect for various uses, including microwave, dishwasher, oven, and freezer.
