Small dish for serving or baking condiments or desserts – 3.75″ diameter x 1.75″ deep! The traditional art of crafting Polish Pottery, also referred to as Bunzlauer stoneware, dates back to the 16th century in Silesia, where local folk techniques were used. Initially, handcrafted pieces were decorated using a stamping method inspired by peacock feathers, featuring cobalt blue, ferrous red, and sage green colors, and these classic patterns remain influential today. Skilled Polish craftsmen continue the heritage by individually crafting and decorating them using a sponge-stamping method for each design and hue. The process includes mixing, decorating, and a two-stage firing that results in pottery that is not only beautiful and durable but also safe for the microwave, oven, dishwasher, and freezer. Each item is handmade, and as such, expect unique characteristics that distinguish it from mass-produced items, adding to its charm.
