10.75″ x 7.5″ x 4″ deep – and painted on the inside as well! The Art of Polish Pottery has its roots in local folk art from centuries ago in the German province of Silesia. The first known “Bunzlauer” stoneware pieces, dating back to the 16th century, were crafted by hand and decorated using a traditional folk art stamping technique with potatoes. Original designs, inspired by the peacock feather motif, featured cobalt blue, sage green, and ferrous red hues, which continue to influence modern patterns. Skilled Polish artisans still handcraft and hand-decorate each piece using sponge stamping techniques to apply intricate patterns and colors. The pottery undergoes a rigorous process involving ingredient mixing, molding, decoration application, and glaze finishing, followed by a double-firing process, enhancing durability and making it resistant to cracking and chipping. Ideal for microwave, dishwasher, oven, and freezer use, this ceramic salad bowl is a perfect addition to any table setting. Our Polish Pottery collection is complemented by a curated selection of exquisite, hand-blown glassware from Poland. Expect uniqueness in every piece due to the handmade and hand-painted nature of the product, ensuring a beautiful and original addition to your dinnerware.
