The Modal Argon8 37-Key 8-Voice Polyphonic Wavetable Synthesizer is an advanced musical instrument offering rich sound design features including a Fatar TP/9S keybed with velocity and aftertouch. Designed with creativity in mind, its multiple components include: Oscillators with 120 wavetables divided into 24 banks, capable of producing a vast variety of waveforms from classic analogue emulations to cutting-edge EDM textures, augmented by additional PWM and noise/modulation banks. With 32 static wavetable processors that enhance sonic capabilities and 32 high-resolution wavetable oscillators, generating intricate soundscapes is straightforward.Keyboard modes consist of Mono, Poly, various Unison settings, and Stack modes, allowing diverse playing styles ranging from simple melody lines to thick, layered textures. The Argon8 is equipped with a sophisticated, user-programmable 32-step arpeggiator that can extend to 2048 steps. Glide/Portamento functionality supports both legato and staccato playing techniques.The onboard resonant filter is versatile, morphing between low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass types to suit a wide array of musical contexts. The ‘Mod Matrix’ offers extensive modulation routing, featuring 8 user-assignable slots and additional fixed routings, complemented by 11 modulation sources and 52 possible destinations. The 4-axis joystick allows for immediate, intuitive modulation control, potentially locking in desired configurations. Amp, Mod, and Filter envelopes can be independently accessed or used together, including negative (reverse) versions. Two Audio rate LFOs are provided, one polyphonic and one global, the former capable of syncing to specific frequency divisions.The effects suite includes Waveshaping distortion and 3 flexible stereo FX engines, capable of tackling a variety of spatial and timbral transformations including Chorus, Phaser, Flanger, Lo-Fi, Tremolo, Rotary, several Delay types, and Reverb.Sequencing capabilities cover real-time input with quantize functionality and the ability to record/edit parameter animations. Up to 512 notes can be stored, and external or internal clocking is available for Delay FX, LFOs, sequencer, and arpeggiator.
