The Walrus Audio Kangra Filter Fuzz Effects Pedal is a true-bypass, two-in-one pedal offering a thick octave fuzz and psychedelic filter. It can be used independently or with the fuzz feeding into the filter, creating complex, distorted tones. This pedal is designed for lead guitarists, providing broken fuzz lead lines that rip through mixes. The Kangra Filter Fuzz was inspired by SNL Guitarist Jared Scharff’s favorite vintage fuzz pedal, the Kay Fuzz Tone. It combines vintage vibe with modern features, including a versatile filter section with Resonance, Sensitivity, Frequency, and Envelope Filter controls.
The fuzz section features a Modern/Vintage switch, allowing players to choose between a more forgiving fuzz with longer sustain (Modern) and a grittier, more aggressive fuzz with shorter sustain (Vintage). The filter can be used on its own to shape sound or with the Envelope Filter switch to create funky, sixties-style tones. The pedal’s design and art were inspired by Jared Scharff’s expedition to the Kangra Valley near the Himalaya Mountains, with artwork by Adam Forster on a peach enclosure.
